Plock is the tenth planet of the Kerbol system. It is the fourth planet added in the Outer Planets Mod and is the Pluto analog for Kerbal Space Program. It has a large, mutually locked moon called Karen - if Sigma Binary is installed, Plock and Karen form a binary system.

Plock's extreme distance from Kerbin makes missions to the dwarf planet difficult, with large amounts of ∆V being required to reach it and round-trip times often exceeding 100 years. The feeble sunlight reduces solar panel output to barely 0.04% of Kerbin's at apoapsis, rendering solar panels functionally useless. Bringing an alternate power source (e.g. RTGs) is strongly recommended.

Like many real-world Kuiper Belt objects, Pluto included, Plock is a "plutino", meaning it is in a 3:2 orbital resonance with Neidon.

In-Game Description[]

There’s been a considerable amount of controversy concerning the status of Plock as being a proper planet or just a lump of ice going around the Sun. The debate is still ongoing, as most academic summits held to address the issue have devolved into, on good days, petty name calling, and on worse ones, all-out brawls.

Physical Characteristics[]

Plock's density is extremely low, less than half that of Kerbin. This, along with the discoloured ice interspersed with mountain ranges, imply that Plock is comprised of mainly low-density materials like dirt and ice with a rocky core that manages to poke above the ice in places, not ruling out subsurface liquid water.

The surface terrain is largely flat, variably brown plains with the occasional grey mountain range scattered over the planet. Despite its lack of an atmosphere, there are few visible impact craters.

Biomes[]

Plock has a total of 13 biomes.
