Tekto is the fifth and last moon of Sarnus. It is the Titan analog to the game and is a small, low-gravity moon with a thick atmosphere.

Its high, inclined orbit increases the difficulty of missions to the moon and the thick atmosphere makes returning harder, but does however greatly reduce the ∆V requirements for landing through enabling the use of aerobraking and parachutes.

In-Game Description[]

This moon has a very dense atmosphere for a body its size. Combined with the low gravity, this means that a Kerbal with wings attached to his arms could lift off from the surface of the moon under his or her own power. Those wings would have to be made of some sturdy materials though, as Tekto's atmosphere appears to be very violent.

Atmosphere[]

Tekto has an atmosphere thick and dense enough to support bodies of liquids on its surface. The atmosphere has a sea level pressure of 124.63 kilopascals (1.23 atmospheres), and a depth of 95,000 meters.

Like all other atmospheres in the game, Tekto's atmosphere fades exponentially as altitude increases. The scale height varies with altitude. The pressure-altitude profile is globally constant and independent of temperature. The following table gives the atmospheric pressure at various altitudes above the datum level.

Composition[]

The average molecular weight of Tekto's air is 28.9644 g/mol, and its adiabatic index is 0.014. which indicates a composition of mostly nitrogen. Given the green color and the density of the gases, it is possible to estimate the atmosphere is 97.8% nitrogen and 2.2% chlorine.

The liquids on the surface are likely some sort of hydrocarbon, which can indicate a "water cycle" made of chlorine or hydrocarbons. As Tekto is the Titan analog, the lakes are probably liquid ethane.

Surface[]

With some graphical mods installed, it is difficult to make observations of the surface from orbit. The density of the moon suggests the following: a solid rock core, 201 km thick; a subsurface ocean 560 km deep; and an icy crust 22 km thick.

Biomes[]

Owing to its varied terrain and oceans, Tekto has a large number of biomes (22 in all).
